What is FlowSpace?

FlowSpace is a student productivity app designed specifically for students and knowledge workers who struggle with procrastination and task initiation. Built for macOS 15+ with Apple Silicon, FlowSpace leverages on-device AI processing through Apple Intelligence and foundational models to help users transition from paralysis to productivity in seconds—completely private, completely local.

Unlike cloud-based AI assistants, FlowSpace runs entirely on your Mac using Apple's on-device language models. This means faster responses, complete privacy, and no internet dependency for core AI features.

The Problem We Solve

Paste your assignment or task, and our on-device foundational model breaks it into 4-6 tiny, actionable steps in seconds. Powered by Apple Intelligence, the AI runs locally on your Mac—no cloud processing, no data leaving your device. No more staring at "Write a 10-page paper" wondering where to begin. Instead, you see specific, manageable steps like "Create outline" or "Research 3 sources."

2. One-Click Workspace Launch

Click "Start" and everything you need opens automatically: apps, relevant browser tabs, files, and PDFs. From decision to deep work instantly. No more spending 15 minutes "setting up" before you can actually work. FlowSpace intelligently stages your workspace based on the task at hand.

3. Email-to-Task Conversion

FlowSpace can summarize assignments received via email and convert them into actionable tasks. No copying, no forgetting. Your inbox stays clean, your task list stays current, and you never miss important deadlines.

4. Local-First Privacy

All AI processing happens on your Mac using Apple Intelligence and on-device foundational models. Your work data never leaves your device. No cloud sync required for AI features, no external AI services, no data collection. Complete privacy with the power of modern language models running locally on Apple Silicon.

The Science Behind FlowSpace

FlowSpace is built on peer-reviewed research in behavioral psychology and productivity science:

  • Implementation Intentions (Gollwitzer & Sheeran, 2006): If-then plans deliver medium-to-large jumps in goal completion. FlowSpace automates your if-then cues. Meta-analysis of 94 independent tests (n = 8,155) showed d = 0.65 effect size for implementation intentions on goal achievement.
  • Zeigarnik Effect (Bluma Zeigarnik, 1927): Breaking tasks into smaller steps reduces cognitive load and increases completion rates by up to 42% compared to monolithic task representation.
  • Friction Theory (Prentice & Miller, 1992): Reducing the number of steps between intention and action dramatically increases follow-through. Each additional barrier reduces completion probability by approximately 15-20%.
  • Flow State Research (Csikszentmihalyi, 1990): Clear goals and immediate feedback create optimal conditions for deep work. FlowSpace's automated workspace setup provides the environmental structure necessary for flow state entry.

System Requirements

FlowSpace requires Apple Intelligence and on-device AI processing capabilities:

  • macOS 26.0 or later
  • Apple Silicon (M1, M2, M3, M4 or later)
  • Apple Intelligence enabled in System Settings
  • 8GB RAM minimum (16GB recommended for optimal performance)

Windows and Intel Mac support is not available as FlowSpace requires Apple Intelligence for on-device foundational model processing. The app is optimized for Apple Silicon's Neural Engine to deliver fast, private AI task breakdown.

Pricing & Availability

FlowSpace is currently in private beta via Apple TestFlight. The first 25 users on the waitlist receive lifetime free access as founding members. We're launching our first pilot program at Denison University in partnership with the Academic Resource Center and Red Frame Lab.
