1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using FlowSpace ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

FlowSpace is a student-focused assignment management application for macOS that helps students organize, track, and manage their academic assignments and tasks. The App provides:

• Assignment and task management
• AI-powered assignment breakdown and planning (using Apple Foundation Models)
• Workspace management and automatic application launching
• Calendar integration for deadline tracking
• Email integration (Gmail) for assignment detection and management
• Local data storage and organization

3. Eligibility

The App is intended for use by students and educators. By using the App, you represent that you are at least 13 years of age (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction to consent to the use of online services).

If you are under 18 years of age, you represent that you have obtained permission from your parent or legal guardian to use the App and that they have reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf.

4. User Accounts and Registration

4.1 Account Information

The App operates primarily with local data storage. You may optionally connect third-party services (such as Gmail) to enhance functionality. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of any credentials used to access third-party services.

4.2 Onboarding Information

During initial setup, you may be asked to provide:

• Your name
• University or educational institution
• Major or field of study
• Learning preferences (e.g., ADHD accommodations)

This information is stored locally on your device and is not transmitted to external servers.

5. Privacy and Data Collection

5.1 Local Storage

All your personal data, assignments, tasks, and preferences are stored locally on your macOS device using Core Data. FlowSpace does not operate cloud servers to store your personal information.

5.2 Foundation Models

FlowSpace uses Apple Foundation Models for AI-powered features such as:

• Breaking down assignments into subtasks
• Generating study plans
• Analyzing email content for assignment detection

All AI processing using Apple Foundation Models occurs entirely on your device. No data is sent to external AI services or third-party servers.

5.3 Third-Party Integrations

When you choose to connect third-party services:

Gmail Integration:

• FlowSpace uses OAuth 2.0 for secure authentication
• Access tokens are stored securely in macOS Keychain with device-only access
• The App accesses your Gmail to detect assignment-related emails
• Email content is processed locally on your device
• FlowSpace does not share your email data with any third parties

Calendar Integration:

• FlowSpace accesses your macOS Calendar to display assignment deadlines
• Calendar data remains on your device and is not transmitted externally

5.4 Network Usage

FlowSpace requires network access only for:

• OAuth authentication with Gmail (if you choose to connect)
• Fetching university information during onboarding
• Anonymous analytics and crash reporting via Firebase (as detailed in our Privacy Policy during beta testing)

5.5 Data Collection

During the beta testing period, FlowSpace collects limited anonymous analytics data as detailed in our Privacy Policy to improve app stability and user experience.

FlowSpace does not collect:

• Assignment content, titles, or descriptions
• Task details, notes, or documents
• Personal identifiable information (PII) such as name, email address, or email contents
• Behavioral tracking data for advertising purposes

6. User Responsibilities

6.1 Acceptable Use

You agree to use the App only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to:

• Use the App in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations
• Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
• Use automated systems to access the App in a manner that sends more requests than a human can reasonably produce
• Interfere with or disrupt the App or servers/networks connected to the App

6.2 Third-Party Services

When using third-party integrations (Gmail, Calendar), you agree to comply with the respective service's terms of use and privacy policies.

6.3 Data Backup

You are responsible for maintaining backups of your data. While FlowSpace stores data locally, we recommend regular Time Machine backups or similar backup solutions.

7. Workspace Management and System Access

7.1 Application Launching

FlowSpace includes workspace management features that can automatically open applications on your Mac when you start a work session. By using this feature, you grant the App permission to:

• Send Apple Events to launch applications
• Access application information for workspace configuration

7.2 System Permissions

The App requires certain macOS permissions to function:

• Notifications: To remind you of upcoming deadlines and tasks
• Calendar Access: To display and sync assignment deadlines
• File Access: To manage workspace files (user-selected only)
• Network Access: For Gmail OAuth and university information lookup

You can revoke these permissions at any time through macOS System Settings.

8. Intellectual Property

8.1 Ownership

FlowSpace and all its original content, features, and functionality are owned by FlowSpace and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

8.2 Your Content

You retain all rights to the data, assignments, notes, and other content you create or input into the App. FlowSpace does not claim ownership of your content.

8.3 License to Use

Subject to these Terms, FlowSpace grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for your personal, non-commercial use.

9. AI-Generated Content

9.1 Nature of AI Features

FlowSpace uses Apple Foundation Models to assist with assignment breakdown, task generation, and content analysis. AI-generated suggestions are provided as recommendations only.

9.2 No Guarantee of Accuracy

While we strive for accuracy, AI-generated content may contain errors or inaccuracies. You are responsible for reviewing and verifying all AI-generated suggestions before relying on them for academic work.

9.3 Academic Integrity

FlowSpace is designed to help you organize and plan your work, not to complete assignments for you. You are responsible for ensuring your use of the App complies with your institution's academic integrity policies.

10. Disclaimers

10.1 Beta Software

IMPORTANT: FlowSpace is currently in beta testing. The App may be unstable, contain bugs, or have incomplete features. Features may change or be removed without notice. We make no guarantees regarding data integrity, reliability, or availability during the beta period.

10.2 "AS IS" Basis

THE APP IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

10.3 No Guarantee

FlowSpace does not guarantee that:

• The App will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free
• The results obtained from using the App will be accurate or reliable
• Any errors in the App will be corrected
• Data will not be lost during beta testing

10.4 Third-Party Services

FlowSpace is not responsible for:

• The availability, accuracy, or content of third-party services (Gmail, Calendar)
• Any changes to third-party APIs that may affect App functionality
• Data loss or corruption resulting from third-party service failures

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, FLOWSPACE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES RESULTING FROM:

• Your use or inability to use the App
• Any unauthorized access to or use of your data
• Any interruption or cessation of the App
• Any bugs, viruses, or other harmful code transmitted through the App
• Any errors or omissions in any content or for any loss or damage incurred as a result of your use of any content made available via the App

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless FlowSpace and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses, including reasonable attorney's fees, arising out of or in any way connected with:

• Your access to or use of the App
• Your violation of these Terms
• Your violation of any third-party rights, including privacy rights or intellectual property rights

13. Updates and Modifications

13.1 App Updates

FlowSpace may update the App from time to time to add new features, fix bugs, or improve performance. Updates may be installed automatically depending on your macOS settings.

13.2 Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by:

• Updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of these Terms
• Displaying a notification within the App

Your continued use of the App after changes to these Terms constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

14. Termination

14.1 By You

You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it from your device. Your locally stored data will remain on your device unless you manually delete it.

14.2 By Us

We reserve the right to terminate or suspend access to the App immediately, without prior notice, if you breach these Terms.

14.3 Effect of Termination

Upon termination:

• Your license to use the App terminates immediately
• You must cease all use of the App
• Locally stored data remains on your device
• Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination shall survive

15. macOS Requirements

FlowSpace requires:

• macOS 15.0 or later
• Apple Silicon (M1 or later) processor
• Sufficient storage space for local data

The App may not function properly on unsupported systems.

17. Export Controls

You agree to comply with all applicable export and re-export control laws and regulations of the United States, including the Export Administration Regulations maintained by the U.S. Department of Commerce.

18. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

18.1 Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

18.2 Dispute Resolution

Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall be resolved through:

• Good faith negotiations between the parties
• If negotiations fail, binding arbitration in accordance with the American Arbitration Association's rules
• Arbitration shall take place in the State of California, unless otherwise agreed by the parties
• Each party shall bear its own costs in any dispute resolution process

Either party may seek injunctive or other equitable relief in court to prevent actual or threatened infringement, misappropriation, or violation of intellectual property rights.

18.3 Class Action Waiver

You agree that any dispute resolution proceedings will be conducted only on an individual basis and not in a class, consolidated, or representative action. You waive any right to participate in a class action lawsuit or class-wide arbitration.

19. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that these Terms shall otherwise remain in full force and effect.

20. Entire Agreement

These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and FlowSpace regarding the use of the App and supersede all prior agreements and understandings, whether written or oral.

21. No Waiver

No waiver of any term of these Terms shall be deemed a further or continuing waiver of such term or any other term, and FlowSpace's failure to assert any right or provision under these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of such right or provision.

23. Acknowledgment
