FlowSpace is currently in beta testing. By using FlowSpace, you acknowledge that the app is under active development and may have limited features or instability.

• What: The name of your educational institution
• Why: To provide aggregated statistics and improve features for different universities
• How: You provide this during onboarding
• Storage: Stored locally on your device and sent to Firebase Analytics as a user property

2. Anonymous Usage Analytics

• What: Anonymous information about how you use the app
  • Features used (e.g., task creation, workspace activation)
  • Screen views and navigation patterns
  • Time spent in different sections
  • Assignment and task creation events (IDs only, not content)
• Why: To understand which features are most valuable and improve the user experience
• How: Collected automatically via Firebase Analytics with an anonymous user ID
• Storage: Firebase Analytics (Google Cloud Platform)

3. Performance and Crash Data

• What: Technical information about app performance
  • App crashes and error logs
  • Device type and OS version
  • App version and build number
  • Performance metrics (memory usage, load times)
• Why: To identify and fix bugs, improve stability
• How: Collected automatically via Firebase Crashlytics
• Storage: Firebase Crashlytics (Google Cloud Platform)

Data We DO NOT Collect

We explicitly do not collect:

• Your name, email address, email contents or any personally identifiable information
• Assignment content, titles, or descriptions
• Task details or notes
• Files or documents you work with
• Your course names or academic information
• Location data
• Calendar event details (only metadata like event IDs)
• Browsing history or keyboard input

How We Use Your Information

We use the collected data solely for:

Where Your Data is Stored

1. Local Storage (Your Mac)

• All assignment content, tasks, and files remain on your device
• Stored in encrypted Core Data database
• Never synchronized to cloud services

2. Firebase (Google Cloud Platform)

• Anonymous analytics and crash reports only
• Stored in Firebase's secure infrastructure
• Retained for 14 months, then automatically deleted

Security Measures

• Encryption: All local data is encrypted using macOS system encryption
• Anonymization: Analytics data uses anonymous user IDs with no personal identifiers
• Access Control: Firebase data is only accessible to FlowSpace developers
• App Sandbox: FlowSpace runs in macOS App Sandbox for additional security
• No Third-Party Sharing: We never share raw data with third parties

• Personalized advertising: Disabled

Beta Program Terms

FlowSpace is currently in beta testing. By participating, you acknowledge:

Service Availability

• The app may be unstable or unavailable at times
• Features may change or be removed without notice
• The service may be discontinued at any time

Data Loss

• While we take precautions, data loss may occur during beta
• We recommend backing up important information externally
• We are not liable for any data loss during the beta period

Feature Access

• All Pro features are currently free during beta testing
• Pricing and feature availability may change after beta
• Beta users will be notified before any pricing changes

Feedback

• We may contact beta participants for feedback (if you provide contact info)
• Participation in surveys and feedback is voluntary
• You may opt out of communications at any time

Since all your assignment content is stored locally on your Mac, you have full access to export or transfer your data at any time.

Children's Privacy

FlowSpace is designed for students and may be used by individuals under 18. We:

• Do not knowingly collect personal information from children
• Only collect anonymous usage data as described above
• Recommend parental guidance for users under 13
• Comply with COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act)

If you are a parent and believe your child has used FlowSpace, please contact us.

Data Retention

• Analytics Data: Automatically deleted after 14 months in Firebase
• Crash Reports: Automatically deleted after 90 days
• Local Data: Remains on your Mac until you delete the app or manually remove it

Data Storage Location

FlowSpace operates in the United States. Analytics data processed through Firebase is stored in:

• United States (Google Cloud Platform)

All data storage and processing complies with applicable United States federal and state privacy laws, including COPPA and CCPA where applicable.
